Job Title: Food Production Machine Operator (Jam Plant)

We’re looking for a new Production Machine Operator to join our Fourayes production team in Bicknor, in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside.

Reporting to: The Production Manager

Full Time Hours: Working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern with start times between 06:00 and 14:00 in line with the business requirements.

Salary: £10.68ph

Welcome Bonus: Upon successful completion of a 12-week probationary period the candidate will receive a one off £300 bonus.

Holidays: 20 days pro rata plus Bank Holidays

Fantastic Rural Location in the middle of our English Bramley apple orchard. So, you will need to have own, or reliable transport to site. We are 5 mins drive from Detling Hill and 15-20min drive from Maidstone or Sittingbourne.

Job Role

The successful candidate will be leading a small team operating modern food manufacturing equipment, producing fruit fillings/jams/mincemeats following the production plan ensuring that the product is manufactured safely and efficiently to achieve the customers delivery and quality expectations.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safe operation of manufacturing equipment in line with the company H&S policy.
  • Quality and food safety throughout the process.
  • Follow the production plan ensuring batch cycle times are achieved.
  • Follow product recipe and manufacturing method.
  • Ensure all stock and labour usage is recorded accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following CAYG principles.
  • Provide a detailed handover at shift change to the incoming operator/area supervisor

Education and Qualifications

The successful candidate should have high levels of numeracy and literacy and, will ideally have previous experience of FMCG or food manufacturing and machine operation, a certificate in basic food hygiene and HACCP would be desirable, though not essential.
