Job Title:Counterbalance FLT DIR Operator

We’re looking for a new Counterbalance FLT DIR Operator to join our Fourayes production team in Bicknor, in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside.

Reporting to: The Production Manager

Full Time Hours: Working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern with start times between 06:00 and 14:00 in line with the business requirements.

Salary: £TBA

Welcome Bonus: Upon successful completion of a 12-week probationary period the candidate will receive a one off £300 bonus.

Holidays: 20 days pro rata plus Bank Holidays

Fantastic Rural Location in the middle of our English Bramley apple orchard. So, you will need to have own, or reliable transport to site. We are 5 mins drive from Detling Hill and 15-20min drive from Maidstone or Sittingbourne.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be an experienced counterbalance forklift truck driver with basic PC operating skills, working in conjunction with the Grader Operator and Line Supervisor they will ensure the correct fruit is loaded onto the Apple line by means of the automatic bin tipper (DIR), recording all stock usage on the area PC.


Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safe operation of all equipment in line with the company H&S policy.
  • Follow the production plan ensuring correct stock is issued to the production line.
  • Ensure all stock usage is recorded accurately using the area PC.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Provide a detailed handover at shift change to the incoming operator/area supervisor

Education and Qualifications

The successful candidate should hold a current, valid counterbalance forklift truck licence, have good organisational skills with high levels of numeracy and literacy and will ideally have previous experience of FMCG or food manufacturing and machine operation.

Covid-19 Procedures 2022

All employees will be required to wear a face covering while working onsite, keeping to the social distancing rules and washing hands etc. We are also asking all employees to take a weekly lateral flow test (ideally over the weekend, ready for the new week ahead) and report the results into HR to maintain a COVID free environment.

Join the Bramley Apple Picking team in the Autumn

If you don’t work all week in the factory then you can join the picking team in September & October. It’s £10 per bin for the 1st pick. Also great if you are student looking for holiday work.
