Job Title: Apple Grader
We’re looking for a new Apple Grader to join our Fourayes production team in Bicknor, in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside.
Reporting to: The Production Manager
Full Time Hours: Working Monday to Friday on a rotating shift pattern with start times between 05:30 and 14:00 in line with the business requirements.
Salary: £10.48 per hour
Welcome Bonus: Upon successful completion of a 12-week probationary period the candidate will receive a one off £300 bonus.
Recommend a Friend Bonus: If you are a permanent member of staff and introduce someone to the company and they are offered the position, you will be entitled to a £400 introductory bonus providing they stay with the company for at least 6 months.
Holidays: 20 days pro rata plus Bank Holidays
Fantastic Rural Location in the middle of our English Bramley apple orchard. So, you will need to have own, or reliable transport to site. We are 5 mins drive from Detling Hill and 15-20min drive from Maidstone or Sittingbourne.

Job Purpose
The Apple Grader will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Apple grader and 5 automated peeling machine, they will working in close collaboration with the Engineering team, the Apple line supervisors and the Apple store operator to ensure a smooth uninterrupted supply of peeled and cored Apple to the production area.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safe operation of all equipment in line with the company H&S policy.
- Follow the production plan ensuring correct stock is issued to the production line.
- Capture and record any downtimes on the relevant documents, communicating these to the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Provide a detailed handover at shift change to the incoming operator/area supervisor
Education and qualifications
- The successful candidate will have good organisational skills with high level of numeracy and literacy and, will ideally have previous experience of FMCG or food manufacturing and machine operation.

If you don’t work all week in the factory then you can join the picking team in September & early October. Current rate is £15 per bin for the 1st pick. Also great if you are student looking for holiday work.
